51 - aussie. vinyl preference, stones over beatles, eclectic tastes. Lived in zimbabwe as a teacher in 81-83 -hence the strange fact below. i believe I started the first world music show in Austrlia in 1984 during the "golden period" .It ran for 10 years. international - free , manfred mann and deep purple for 3.50 aussie.

deep purple had sound problems and didn't come on til nearly midnight. Dad was waiting to pick me up and ended up coming into the concery. He had ingratiated himself with the bouncers by describing ian gillan's wails like someone having sat on a cold toilet seat. Each time i hear Gillan I think of that comment. Thanks Dad.
