About Me

Having a great mid-life crisis and generally not being as sensible as I was 10 years ago. I live in the leafier end of Essex and married to a Lancastrian.

I've one year remaining of my Open University degree in English Language & Literature. Proud owner of a Gideon Coe 6 Music Duffer Badge (Mrs Phil also has one - not so proud).

Music: Proggy foundations, bit of jazz, happy when Indian or African turns up on the iPod and have been seen at classical concerts. Currently discovering folk.

First Gig

First proper gig was Yes at Wembley Arena. 28th Oct 1978. Still have recording from the the first R1 Friday Rock Show broadcast about a week or so later. Fabulous memento and an infinitely better mix than the Yesshows live double from around the same time.

Strange Fact

I bought (and still have) the first issue of Word. I didn't like it, couldn't get on with it and decided it wasn't the mag for me. Two and a half years later the road to Damascus beckoned and I'm now on to my third subscription. Not really weird I know but the best I can do at the moment without going into physical deformities.
