I travel a lot in my work and I try to catch some live entertainment wherever I go. In 2011 I saw Prince and the Pierces at The Hop Farm festival in Kent and Squeeze in Greenwich. I attended David Hepworth's True Stories Told Live and was one of the lucky folk on The Word's Thames river cruise. Later in the year I saw John McLaughlin spanking his plank at the Blue Note in New York. The very same night I walked a couple of blocks to see Shawn Colvin. In between all of that I saw an Alice Cooper tribute band in which a close friend of mine played the part of Miss Whiplash!

Slade at Earl's Court, July 1973. Support was the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. The following week a friend asked if I wanted to see Bowie and the Spiders at Hammersmith Odeon. It was a school night, so I said no, maybe next time. Doh!! It was their last ever show.
