- About Me
How about a claim to fame? I was thrown out of the room in Lennon's house, with the white piano, by Doris Day's son. Ringo had bought the house (Tittenhurst, Sunninghill) and was recording in the studio. He and the session guys had all gone to the pub, but the engineer was a mate of my brother's. Bruv was (still is) a great guitarist, so the two of them were just blagging a bit of studio time. I arrived later that night, to pick bruv up. A roadie let me in, and sat me in 'the room' (sadly, minus piano), to watch telly. After about an hour, Terry Melcher (producing the Ringo album) came to the door, whispered to the roadie, and disappeared. Roadie looked at me, apologetically, and said 'Sorry, man. Shermans. What can you do?' Those were the days!

Mott the Hoople, supported by Paul Rodgers' "Peace" - Guildford Civic Hall 1971. Free had just split, for the first time. Paul's last song was an 8 minute song about the last tree in the world. Mott were just a great live band. Hunter is still making great albums.
