About Me

Editor, The Lipster. After two glorious teenager summers interviewing old coal-miners and tackling scrum halves for South Wales' premier weekly, the Llanelli Star, Jude Rogers spent ten years in the journalistic wilderness (Student Union President, barmaid, medical secretary, theology publishing assistant, worst advertising sales executive ever, gin-soaked hoodlum) before returning with her own quarterly magazine, Smoke: A London Peculiar in 2003. Soonafter, she started work at The Word, where she has edited reviews, helped with production, learned lots about Blodwyn Pig and the Love Trousers, and laughed every hour for the last four glorious years. Career highlights so far include doing drunk catalogue poses in a Munich bar with a pre-fame James Blunt, debating the merits of Lucifer coming to you in your dreams with Tori Amos, meeting her girlhood sweetheart Evan Dando, and interviewing Cat Power while she did a wee. In 2008, Jude can be found running The Lipster.
