- About Me
Word Magazine Web Monkey. I was born in New Zealand, but have lived in London since 1985. I gave up my degree course to work in a second hand record shop, and have been trying to escape the music industry ever since. I've worked as a roadie (over 300 gigs with pre-Britpop indie-rocksters The Family Cat), then in A&R for goth/rock misery merchants The Cure. I was Head of Music for London radio station Xfm from its inception until the big corporate shakedown of 1998.
I am fond of kittens (care to buy my book?) and extreme cooking - I even wrote a blog for the Observer Food Monthly website about eating animals alphabetically.

Toyah Wilcox, Leicester De Montford Hall, 1982. I was crushed against the stage and somewhat troubled by the large and scary crowd. Toyah, rather sweetly, noticed this during the first song and held my hand for a moment.
- Beatles or Stones
- I prefer The Monkees
- Strange Fact
My mother was briefly Stravinsky's secretary.
