First Gig

New Order, Glasgow (Tiffany's - no longer there, of course), April 1983. Turned up when the support band was playing (The Wake) and for a few minutes genuinely thought they were the main act.

Strange Fact

At school I knew 2 guys in bands, both drummers: one was in the Soup Dragons and the other in Del Amitri. Both bands had minor indie success in the early 1980s. Both drummers then left / were kicked out of their bands. Both bands subsequently got chart hits.
