About Me

A young looking(according to my wife) 60 year old who has retained an interest in what was termed 'Pop' music since the days of a wind-up record player and my late mother staying up to write down the Radio Luxembourg Top 20 every Sunday night for me. Still playing these days through the latest technological advances I can afford. Started disco work at College where I ran the lunchtime record sessions and booked the groups for our dances. It was very much a case of who I didn't book that makes interesting reading these days. For example, Elton John when he was in Bluesology at a rather fetching £50.
These days I'm sort of retired but I manage to do a little broadcasting for Wales No.1 Hospital Radio Station with football commentary and a weekly Country/Americana programme. Occasionally my football work takes me onto commercial radio and satellite channels. The Disco work is now confined to fund raising for the Hospital Radio Station.
Going back to Nashville later in 2008 for a 3rd time, with the CMA Awards and another trip to the Bluebird as the highlights.

Strange Fact

Once spent a night in a Ibiza bar with Lionel Bart sharing my table and trying to stay the night in my apartment because he had nowhere to stay. The wife(not my current one) continually shaking her head out of his view. It could have been when he described himself as a "Male Chauvinistic Poofter".
Lionel told me he was writing his new musical 'Gullivers Travels' starring David Bowie and Ian Dury.Whatever happened to that heaven knows, thankfully the Abbey National ads came along and put some money in his pocket.
