Win a guitar courtesy of "Once" and Epiphone!

"Just occasionally you happen upon a film that is such a delight, you don't write a note, don't pen a single sarky observation in the gloaming of your review cinema, don't snigger quietly to your neighbour about the quality of the leading man's hairpiece. You just sit back with a grin on your face and let its wonder wash over you." That's our own Jim White writing in glowing terms last month about "Once", the acclaimed Irish movie about the romance between a street musician and a Czech immigrant played out on the streets of Dublin during one week as they write, rehearse and record songs that reveal their unique love story. "The songs grow organically out of the story, people sing in places you expect them to, such as in a recording studio. This may be a first: a realistic musical," said Jim White. "Once" is on release in the UK on October 19th. Go here for details and cinema listings.

We've been talking about the movie and the busking life on this week's podcast and to mark the occasion we're giving away this rather lovely Epiphone DR100 acoustic guitar in black, which would cost you around £100 if you were to buy it in the shops. The question, as posed on the podcast, is "Which band is the film's star Glen Hansard the leader of?" All you have to do is answer that and add the name of the song you never wish to hear another busker play and email it with your address to competition@wordmagazine.co.uk before the film is released on October 19th 2007.
