Zom Rom Com Giveaway
Well, I've really been looking forward to seeing the new film "Zombieland" as all of the reviews I have read have been extremely enthusiastic about the performances and the story. All of the critics make reference to a terrific and unexpected cameo halfway through the film. Somewhat uncharacteristically, the critics managed to keep a lid on the identity of the mysterious cameo. Even mark Kermode managed to keep his mouth shut.
So, a big thanks to Kate Mossman for ruining the surprise in the new issue of Word. Still, I'm sure it won't spoil my enjoyment of the film. But please, can no-one give away the major plot developments of "Titanic" "Pearl Harbour" or "World Trade Centre" as I haven't gotten round to seeing those yet, either. And what's all this about a sledge in "Citizen Kane?"

But
-if memory serves, the film was reviewed (by Boyd and FLoyd) when Kermode had swine flu and they mentioned the actor in question. Maybe he was mentioned in an email read out by Mayo - he was certainly named way back then.
Spoiler?
It's not really, is it? Bill Murray's name is in the cast list, and if the great Roger Ebert can mention the cameo in his review, then I figure it's no big deal. The Times review does the same.
Ahh Rosebud...
Some years ago I was taking photographs in a graveyard (as you do) when an old man came up to me and said hello. We got talking and started nattering about art and film. He asked me if I'd seen 'Citizen Kane' and I told him I had and that it was wonderful. He then said "Look at my hand" and showed me his palm. On it was a remarkable tattoo of Rosebud in the snow. He told me he'd been so affected by watching the film when it came out that he'd gone out and had the tattoo done a couple of days later.
It was odd realizing that I will never see another 'Rosebud' tattoo as long as I live.
Sledge?
I don't want to ruin it for you but I think you might find that it's a sled...
great cameo
very funny, good film
as Dr K would say
he's a ghost, she's a bloke and it's a sledge
