Your Christmas present problems solved
Posted by David Hepworth on 6 December 2007 - 11:21am.
If you want to buy somebody a subscription to Word for Christmas but you're not sure that they'll know it's actually from you, then we have a solution for you at Borders. All you have to do is pick up one of these very attractive, expensive-looking packs at their stores, fill in the form and then present your discriminating friend with the pack on Christmas Day, thereby increasing the sum of human happiness, fighting the rising tide of stupidity and marking yourself out as a person of of some sophistication. Every month that follows they will hear the happy "thwap" of the new issue landing on their mats and reflect upon just how valued a friend you are.

A question
Can you get them for people who live abroad, or is that more complicated? Someone in my family wants to buy one for someone who lives in Norway.
Subs
You can buy a subscription to the magazine for people who live abroad. If you call 0870 4420912 they will be able to set this up for you. Unfortunately the subs packs (shown) are for UK only.
Thanks
, Jerry.
no disrespect to the lads
manning the tiller in Development Hell Ltd, but foreign Subs are madly expensive. All down to the postage costs, i'm informed...
one year to Europe/Ireland costs more than a two year sub in the UK. Mind you, if your norwegian friend has no other way of getting the mag, you're stuck, mate!
Foreign subs
I agree with you and apologise for the cost of our overseas subs rates. It's not our fault, honest. We make less from an international subscription than we do from UK, due to the ridiculous postage costs we're charged.
Even at these prices, still one of the best gifts you can get. (he says objectively)
