You wouldn't think they'd bother

Just got home from the Espanyol vs Villareal(0-0 we missed a penalty) match to discover Yet another "festival" going on in the square one block from my flat.
This square is a venue to all manner of musical events at strange times. The Band goes on about 11 0'clock at night and this thing usually attracts about 30 people. It's usually very loud and keeps the neighbourhood awake till gone 1am.
The bands uniformly sing in Catalan,a language that doesn't lend itself to music ,especially Rock.
Why am i telling you this, well the band that is currently stopping me from getting some kip is a POGUES cover band. we've had all the hits but in Catalan. Wire fans will be pleased to hear we haven't been treated to Body of an American.
Now i Imagine that in the far east a lot of cover bands sing in their own language but what about Europe ? Anyone else seen anything as strange as a Pogues Cover band sung in another language ?
I know Danny Baker plays a lot of Unusual cover versions in other languages. Individual songs i get but a whole band's catalogue
The Next band has just come on and is doing "Ace of Spades" in Catalan. worse than you can possibly imagine.
The Title for my post comes from a line in Minder where "The Syrup" says he once saw an Indian playing the bagpipes.

I stumbled across

an Argentinian punk band who did a load of Stiff Little Fingers covers in Spanish on Myspace once.

Can't remember what they were called though, which makes this post rather pointless.

El Vez: ¡Hola! from Mexico

This isn't quite what you want, but El Vez has Mexicanised much of the work of Elvis, Bowie and others. Here's "En El Barrio". If you don't like the music, just admire the quiff and 'tache combo:
