World Party

James Helford's picture

Cooking and music obviously a theme lately. World Party's "Put The Message In The Box" came on tonight - what a great song. Got me wondering about what Karl Wallinger is up to. I know he has been unwell - is he on the mend? It would be nice to get a catch up in The Word on him - a hugely talented man.

Bang!

I'm pretty sure there were actually plans to re-release this album this month. Karl's touring the US so he's obviously recovered from his aneurysm. Good news all round!

!!

Both the albums I already have on CD.

Though if it gets them a larger audience, then good. Some nice little ditties on both.

This was last month:

Glad to hear he's back performing

Last I heard of him was a spat he had with Mike Scott in the pages of Uncut.
Would be great to hear some new material.

Dunno. But there's a huge

Dunno. But there's a huge gap on both Spotify and iTunes where World Party should be, whi8ch doesn't help.

Lord yes

I do believe I've got Goodbye Jumbo somewhere at home on one of those plastic things we used to call a "cassette". That'll give me something to do tonight...

The First three WP

albums were due for rerelease this week. Mine haven't turned up, so I suspect that they have been pushed back a week or so. The nest two are rereleased at the end of the month, and I think "Dumbing Up" is supposed to include a three hour DVD of TV appearances etc.

spotify has one album

The debut Private Revolution. When this came out I was convinced that Ship of Fools was an instant classic:
