Word magazine spotted on Edinburgh bus
Posted by Glenbervie on 24 November 2011 - 1:38am.
Coming home from late shift at the bookshop (about an hour ago), I was gazing idly around the 35 bus heading up Easter Road, leaving Leith, heading for Edinburgh proper, when I noticed a bloke in a nearby seat shuffling through a plastic bag with around a year's worth of recent Word mags ... he settled on the one with the Noel Gallagher cover and put the rest back in his bag
If you're reading this, oh bus-travelling Word reader, sorry I didn't say hi. It had been a long day.

Not me
Though it's always possible the house has been burgled while I am in the fleshpots of ...Harrogate.
"teapots" of Harrogate, surely?
...
T'weren't me...
I don't do omnibuses. Nor carry the back catalogue with me in plastic bags...
But I do generally have the podcast on on my daily trudge up and down to the office via Waverley.... but nobody would know of course :)
Surely
it was Inspector Rebus seeking a moment's respite ....actually, did anyone see the recent FT feature on Ian Rankin and Edinburgh's vinyl emporia ?
It was Rents ken?
He'd chorried all they mags from WH Smiths.
Do you think you'll ever be able to say
I saw a chap reading the Word on an Edinburgh Tram?
Tram
He was listening to Blood On Tracks as well.
Not me
I'm more of a number 26, 44 or 30 guy.
Of course we'll all recognise eack other after the Mingle on 4th of December.

Are people still up for that??? Ianess??
I had managed to miss this
but your comment sent me off to the thread in question.
I would have loved to have gone but young Cakes jr and his chums have a gig that night - final night of their first tour: http://www.hittheroad.org.uk/
As they are the home team, they'll be headlining.
Really, it's one I cant miss...
Close...
...well not really. I bought the latest (at the time) in Edinburgh back in August and had a quick flick through it on the bus to the airport.
I've never knowingly met another Word reader
or even seen anybody with a copy, despite having been a subscriber for 4 years. However I do vaguely know one of the regular blog posters in his real life, although he doesn't know me (at least, I don't think he does). Maybe I should get out out more.

I saw a bus on a word
New Word T-shirt: You're either on the bus
or you're not on the bus ... etc etc.
Did see a rather fetching young lass with a Word carrier bag on a train station platform a while ago---or was I just daydreaming ?
I'm still waiting for the Where in the World is Eamonn Forde iPhone (4) app ...
