Word Blogger Quoted In Guardian blog

Nick's picture

Yes, a post by Futurenoir on this very blog is referenced by none other than legendary Rock journo Swells:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2009/feb/05/rock-urine-freedom...

"A blogger on the Word website – presumably one of the prissy new breed who have grown up in the sterile, piss-free modern rock environment – recently had the sheer bloody nerve to ask if the slinging of one's urine at British rock concerts was an urban myth.

In an orgy of rock-piss nostalgia, hordes of horny-handed old codgers put him straight. The anecdotes flew through the air like so many plastic Woodpecker cider bottles filled with the good stuff."

I don't know about anyone else,

but judging by many of the posts here and profiles, i would suggest many of us were born the wrong side of the 70s, and indeed, would quite like to be one of the new breed again

He's talking about

a lack of pissing on seats. *Seats*. That's what he should be writing about. *Seats* at a Metallica concert!
BTW
Have you seen his picture? The one he wants the world to see, this revolutionary? Groomed to within an inch of his life.
If he's pissed on a seat in 20 years other than his toilet seat (and he probably has to wipe it off mid-stream and turn around clockwise 3 times if he does) I'll eat my manbag.

i haven't seen his picture

but I used to know him back in the late 70s/early 80s (before and during the early stages of his NME career) - he wasn't groomed at all then - skinhead, monobrow, spotty - was quite a pleasant, affable tyke.

Seething Wells legendary?

See the thread elsewhere about the devaluation of the 'legendary' attribute.

Lester Bangs, CSM, Mick Farren, Nick Kent, Cameron Crowe... They're proper legendary rock writers.
