Personally speaking I find Wolfgang's Vault the keys to heaven - having pretty much retreated, sonically speaking, from modern life into the Mahavishnu Orchestra's albums and a handful of CD bootlegs from eBay, stumbling onto the Vault late last year - with its ever-growing (26 so far...) compliment of astounding and mostly purchaseable, quasi-legitimate recordings from 1973 MO concerts - has been a revelation. Mahavishnu '73 have, literally, become the soundtrack to my life! All thanks to the miraculous skill and foresight of their sound engineer at the time, one Dinky Dawson. He's an interesting chap - has a profile page at the Vault and a memoir essay of a 1975 Jeff Beck/Mahavishnu tour up there too in their 'Crawdaddy' e-zine, or whatever they call such things. Bliss or, dare one say it, Sapphire Bullets of Pure Joy...

It was new to me too - currently streaming a Bruce concert from 1978 as I type. The Crawdaddy archive looks worth investigating as well. Thanks kinkywolfgang.
