Wish I'd done this on my (snow-enforced) day off
Posted by Mr Sparks on 2 December 2010 - 9:36pm.
A friend sent me this link to a video of a powder hound skiing down Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. How cool is that?
I managed a walk through snow-covered country lanes and a session in the Horns Inn yesterday afternoon, but nothing like this guy.
Has anyone else got up to anything exciting during the big freeze?

Mighty
I managed to get my ski boots on and ski down to the shops (and walk back - not fun), but nothing like this - looks lovely!
Good effort!
I was out in Glenmore Forest with snowshoes last weekend. And prior to the really heavy snow, I had a couple of good days climbing in Coire an t'Sneachdha.
I also had a terrific walk over Bynack Mor a couple of weeks ago, where I saw no less than 9 ptarmigan and these two cheeky chappies:

Much as that looks very cool..
The thought of the hike up through deep snow puts me off a bit. Call me a wuss if you will.
I did wander out with Young Master Law this afternoon, both heavily insulated, to see what there was to see.
"Lots of snow" seemed to be the answer.
We threw snowballs in the sea. They take some time to melt. Sod going for a swim, then.
Old Horns Bradfield?
I was already aware Mr. Sparks that you were a man of some taste when it came to pubs from the other recent thread.
Excellent place, I never crossed the threshold today as I was actually working and have never seen snow quite like it. May have to venture out tomorrow as the supplies of Shiraz are getting low.
The Horns Inn, Holmesfield
Not my favourite pub, but close at hand! (And the only one open!)
Snowboarding Basildon stylee
I took this (rather bad) pic yesterday in Basildon,Essex.
He was having a rather hard time staying on!
