Wilko Johnson
Posted by stevedickychap on 6 July 2011 - 12:06am.
Just catching up with Sky Atlantic's Game Of Thrones and whilst watching confrontation between a couple of medieval hard men, I note the resemblance of one of them to the great Wilko Johnson. Later, same hard man appears again and memories of Dr. Feelgood playing Leeds University Refectory circa 1979/1980 fill my head. It is Wilko! I know that piercing lunatic thousand yard stare anywhere! Anybody else spotted him? Can I expect some future episode with Wilko axe in hand giving some White Walkers some Boom Boom?

Oh yes!
Unfortunately, he doesn't reappear until very close to the end, but when he does he carries out a rather revolting task with great relish!
I really enjoyed Game of Thrones. I watched it expecting it to be nonsense, but got drawn in. I was very impressed with Peter Dinklage's English accent and even more impressed with James Cosmo's Yorkshire accent.
heartily agree with you...
it's the best thing I've seen on telly in an age, and (for my money) knocked Boardwalk Empire into a cocked hat. I enjoyed BE, but Thrones was in a league of its own. Like yourself, Paul, I came to it thinking 'I'll give this a rattle, but it'll probably be rubbish'. It wasn't.
James Cosmo and Peter Dinklage?
Bloody hell. That sounds good.
Dinklage
really does steal every scene. Seeing him in this reminded me of the first film I saw him in 'The Station Agent' which I revisisted - a lovely film if anyone hasn't caught it.
sorry about the duplicates
don't know what im doing

I echo those sentiments!
