Who was the band playing on the Sun Studios documentary?

Did anyone see the Sun Studios docu yesterday on Sky Arts?
I caught all of 10 minutes before going out and heard a band playing in Sun Studios a song which may have been called 'Lost Weekend' (no it wasn't Lloyd Cole!), lead singer was wearing a stars and stripes wooly hat.
Band sounded good to me and I'm curious as to who they were - anyone know?

I was out in the US when the first Matchbox 20 album came out
and this track was all over the car stereo.
It doesn't sound quite the same on a wet November day in Wales :-)
Er...
Am I alone in thinking that that version of Lonely Weekends is quite horrible?
