Whatever else you might think about Rod Liddle

You can't accuse him of making life easy for himself...

He'll be at the top of..
..the EDL's Xmas card list, that's for sure. Will this hit the news?
EDL's new direction
http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/index/
Don't think key word advertising works, either that or the EDL's coining it in from the 'enemy.
Oldie but a goldie
I preferred him
when he was in Neighbours - less of a racist in that
EDIT *damn, you noticed the mistake!*
Daphne?
was it?
He's done well
I thought he was an idiotic, reactionary, ill thinking idiothole who could sink no lower in my personal estimation. But he's managed it. The Beeb should line him up for Question Time for when Nick Griffin isn't available.
oxygen thief
- have you seen his byline photo too? That must be at least 25 years old. The vain, ignorant berk. (Links to the Daily Mail website too. How lovely)
the depressing
thing is that he is clearly quite an intelligent bloke. However, he is turning all his ingenuity into being hired by the Mail as they pay the best.
Anyway - luckily, white youths do not commit crime
Whatever else you might think about the Mail...
They would not have printed that. They may do snide innuendo, but they don't do flat out racism. It reads to me like he's blogging while under the influence - in vino veritas and all that. What a nasty man.
I think the Mail
does what it does very well. Very cleverly. I am not anti-Mail per se. It has talented writers and I'm sure its views are those of a broad swathe of public opinion
But I sense Lidl's pice is a dog-whistle call to the recruiters. Imagine what Jan Moir or Littlejohn or Melanie Phillips really think if what appears is watered down.
And that is what is most insidious about the Mail - that its discourse is presented as the voice of M&S sock wearing, Sainsbury cottage pie eating common-sensible-right-thinkers
Lidl - I see what you did there
You may have a point - the only thing that might count against him is that the Mail demands a certain level of writing talent and intellectual rigour from its columnists that he simply doesn't have. He's just a self-obsessed buffoon.
I'm Sorry
but if you think that Littlejohn has any of those attributes I would suggest you re-read any of his columns.
He's very skilful
... at the craft of tabloid journalism - I don't like or agree with nearly everything he says, but he does what he does very well. That's why he's one of the highest paid journalists in Britain.
Cant let you get away with that Sheev
every time I'm back in the UK I stock up on M&S socks, the sports type, black, with ribbing around the instep. I find that they are warm in the winter and cool in the summer and so, so comfortable. Do we really have to suffer for our political views?
yes - sorry
may have come over as unnecessarily sockist. Apologies - in advance - to any cottage-piers too. I myself fall into both camps.
It's what the Mail does - make you feel that negative and reductivist views - are just plain normal. That is their genius. Picking into middle Britain's neuroses with the precision of a hot needle
Those famous yardies...

Harold Shipman
baby P's killers

Yes, we have problems within our society and schisms between ALL the races but that article is almost beyond the BNP
I hope he is clearing space on his shelf for that Pulitzer.
Deep, insightful, balanced and well researched.
Although I did notice one accurate thing about the article - when you click on human filth you find yourself on the Daily Mail website.
A liddle to the right
Rod Liddle merely says what Clarkson is thinking
Like for Clarkson before him,
I think it's time we called in Ian Hislop and Paul Merton to give him a once-over.
These flower-shirted, supermarket-denim wearing manque reactionaries DO NOT LIKE IT UP 'EM when they're spooned a taste of their own medicine.
Look again
What's even more depressing are the comments below the fold... please have a look at the oppressed minority - who read the Speccie
New
Is this real or a spoof? I used read his stuff in the ST but went of him a bit since his response to The Word when he went on a rant about public school educated people.
If this is true can he still work for a paper while expressing this views? I cant even be bothered to call him a wanker.A cunt will do for now
Can't even call him that...
Painty, as they say in Lurgan - a cunt's a useful thing
Well let me tell you that
Rod Liddle (who shares the same alma mater as Selina Scott) went to one of the cosier and more desireable Comprehensives in a relatively leafy enclave of Teesside, so if he's trying to pull any of that salt of the earth stuff he can tw*t right off.
It almost makes you call for
It almost makes you call for a critical re-evaluation of Richard Littlejohn.
Steady on
Two wrong 'uns don't make a right
No, they'd make Richrod
No, they'd make Richrod Liddlejohn.
Perish the thought!
Or even
Richard Littlerod. *snigger*
Dick Littlerod to his friends
A friend of mine....
... worked on the Today programme when he was editor.
She thought little of him. Seemingly he'd walk into the office and say "Alright motherf*ckers" every damn morning.
This she found tedious.
The Spectator is blooming awful these days. It used to be, even if you hated the politics you'd admire the writing. This is no longer the case...
A tedious oaf
As one of the ethnic group Rodney loves to slime whenever possible, I feel a childish urge to indulge in a bit of mindless bitching and whining back in response, but ultimately, what is the point? He is like Jeremy Clarkson, a bilious middle-aged flatulent bore with a grossly distorted view of his own importance.
It's really no surprise, he's written lots of pieces sneering at Muslims and Funny Foreigners in general. He came out here to Dubai recently to gloat over the miserable situation here and filed a piece oozing with barely-concealed racial disdain.
Sorry for the cut'n'paste, but here's an extract from his Wikipedia profile.
Liddle was heavily criticised by pro-Muslim groups following the broadcast of his Channel 4 documentary Immigration Is A Time Bomb in 2005...
In February 2006 Liddle wrote an article in The Sunday Times ("Alas, I must defend the BNP")...
In November 2009, on The Spectator website he offered "a quick update on what the Muslim savages are up to", sarcastically suggesting "Incidentally, many Somalis have come to Britain as immigrants recently, where they are widely admired for their strong work ethic, respect for the law and keen, piercing, intelligence"[4]
Another Spectator Columnist disagrees with him
Alex Massie says
full article at :
http://www.spectator.co.uk/alexmassie/5603836/prejudice-isnt-daring-its-...
His article also notes that
Scottish Government Statistics conform this (for 2005) at
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2005/12/13133031/30384
Which makes me wonder
if he isn't actually guilty of incitement to racial hatred...
And let's not forget that his criminal record is not unblemished. Caution for domestic violence, sir? Suits you.
That would make him a martyr for some people
They would trot out the line about persecuted for daring to tell the truth etc. etc.
Best just to point out what a pathetic has-been he is after falling from the dizzy heights of programme editor to to dirty, unkempt-looking hack, desperate for publicity.
And by all accounts a total shit as a human being.
Yes there was some
Yes there was some rannygazoo with his leaving his wife wasn't there - shortly after their honeymoon for a woman he'd met at work. Still, no-ones perfect. We remains within the bounds of disgraceful, caddish behaviour.
Allegedly getting handy with his girl friend and broadcasting the kind of bilge that would have the most reactionary of Daily Mail readers writhing in weaselly glee? No, no.
I agree with Cornishmanc - an unfortunate by-product of 'features' such as this miserable little ejaculation (I use the word 'feature' loosely - I mean, come on Rod. You're looking to get squadrons of brownshirts goosestepping through Southall or Brixton any time soon, you are going to need to spew out a few more words that that, surely?!) is the wholly-unjustified elevation of the writer into some sort of absurd moral 'Crusader', unafraid, tells it how it is, etc etc. Liddle, as pointed out in many posts above, is basically a grizzled hack who got lucky. A towering icon of liberty, free speech and Pulitzer-baiting talent he is not.
But sadly, ultimately, the real tragedy right now I think, is that not only does this blarting moron publish this stuff, we're sadly in an era where this kind of nonsense is being published within the media mainstream.
Rod Liddle, akin to history
in that it's just one f*cking thing after another.
Still, I suppose you have to keep raising the self-publicity stakes all the time once you've been cautioned for smacking pregnant women around...
Be fair
According to the Independent, there was only one pregnant woman involved.

;-)
Liddle's posting in the article's comments
He is desperately claiming the article is not about race.
But rather like Mr Liddle, it doesn't wash.
Slotbadger's remark up there ^^^^^^
... about the problem being the mainstream media publishing nonsense is, unfortunately, bang on the money. There is no more depressing thought to me than the fact that idiots like Liddle are all over formerly well regarded papers and mags like The Times and The Spectator.
Much as I hate to drive the Spectator's traffic
it's worth revisiting the comments - after a lot of initial support he is taking a spanking, and reacting as gracefully as you'd expect.
Great response
Bonnie Greer's response to this is brilliant:
'The overwhelming majority of paedophiles, murderers and football hooligans are white males and all we get in return is beans on toast and Top Gear."
Goodness me.
What a complete cockspanner that man is. I always appreciate being lectured about "human filth" from the moral high ground of a man who accepted a police caution for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
What a prince.
"Cockspanner"
Worth an up-arrow any day
Liddle points out inconvenient truth
There is no reason to expect groups to have equal propensities to criminality though. Testosterone, often linked with violent crime, differs between racial groups.
"Mean testosterone levels in blacks were 19% higher than in whites, and free testosterone levels were 21% higher. Both these differences were statistically significant."
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3455741
Also, are readily identifiable clusters of genes corresponding to traditional continental ethnic groups. Two groups that form distinct clusters are likely to exhibit different frequency distributions over various genes, leading to group differences.
MAO-A variants which place people at greater risk of aggressive behaviour (in combination with childhood maltreatment) also show different frequency distributions across groups.

Also, note global crime rates are consistent with the rates observed by Liddle.

Hi Rod
- how's the wife and kid?
So are you saying
that males with high levels of testosterone are more likely to be violent criminals?
And that Liddle's odious little piece of bile is a worthy treatise on crime and causes of crime?
And if we follow that logic...
Bald men, like me, should be locked up, because it's caused by an excess of testosterone.
It's a fair cop guv, the slaphead dunnit.
I'm all for debate, but Mr Chen's opinions are ignorant bollocks.
Liddle - another name for failure
Where did it all go wrong Rod lad? It's a mighty long fall from editor of one the best radio news programs (if not the best) to what? Rent a rabble rousing hack? A man has to make a living but there must be some limits. I wonder, where are yours?
Are you a bad man? A bitter man perhaps? You certainly sounded like one in your response to the "Word" criticism. A sad man with a small moral compass perhaps.
Let us move on dear bloggers.
