What the massive do best
Posted by Danmac on 8 June 2011 - 11:11pm.
It is a very simple two part question .
The gig is a comedy one for a humanist org .Firstly I need suggestions for the play list between doors open and curtain up . Secondly a suggestion as to entry music for the compere ( i was thinking the section of Roisin Dubh that morphs into the Londonderry air ). Thanks

Top 10 Atheist Songs

Morrissey
I Have Forgiven Jesus?
I also have a tune called God Will Fuck You Up. No idea who sings it though.
Two songs sprang to mind
Doobie Brothers
and one of my favourites
Big Mama Thornton from the film Vanishing Point
Nirvana
Jesus doesn't want me for a sunbeam
Fanfare for the Common Man
Fanfare for the Common Man
Nobody's Fault But Mine
Beth Rowley
Don't let it pass you by
by UB40.
Or for the more militant humanist wing
*Edit* I may look stupid if these were on that spotify list but I can't access that list from here...
Jesus Built My Hotrod
Wilco
Hell is Chrome
Impressed that these are both on youtube
then there's this of course
Jim White
"God Was Drunk When He Made Me", but that's OK 'cause I forgive him.
and this, though you could go with the Peggy Lee version
Etta James
"God's Song (That's Why I Love Mankind)". It's Randy Newman's song but Etta's is a kick-ass version.
