Entertainment For Lively Minds
What happened to the party?
I've just seen the support act, it doesn't matter who it was and she was quite good but there's just something wrong when a support act talks (onstage) about "developing in the industry". It makes it sound so cold and calculating. Has it always been so? I feel sure that in the past (better known as the good old days) people generally went out on the road to have a good time, get girls and drugs and generally have an excuse for misbehaving, preferably in the company of someone else that has proved themselves as more than capable of misbehaving and can pass on some "wisdom". It makes it so much worse when this particular artist is supporting Carlene Carter who apparently wrote the book on hellraising. Perhaps I'm just a bit grumpy because it's an all seated venue (which I still can't get to grips with) and I'm a long way from the stage.

You Must Be Talking About Alana Levandoski
and you must have been sat close to where I was. Maybe young performers nowadays don't seem to have as many illusions about how tough it is to make a living in the music biz, which is no bad thing - we all know about the successful artists who left the business side of things to their managemnt or record labels and were royaly ripped off.
There must have been many more artists in the same situation who never had the wherewithal to sue those who took the money and ran. If she is going into what she hopes will be a career with her eyes open, good for her.
I enjoyed her performance which was better than many support acts I've seen.
As for Carlene's performance, I agree that we would have been better standing. She wanted us up and shaking our bootys' and it just wasn't going to happen in that place. Mind you , I've been to a few gigs at the Radcliffe and the setting is perfect for the majority of them. It was an enjoyably ramshackle evening anyway.
Smash it up!
Perhaps next time we're at the same seated gig we can start a rebellion and smash the seats up etc and make it really rock and roll.... or maybe we can be pleased with the early curfew and the chance to get home to bed nice and early!
That
made me laugh out loud (which is quite painful as I have stches in my stomach)!
She hasn't just got a dry sense of humour ?
Only asking, wasn't there but this is from the website:
