What the Dickens?
Just got sent this
"Gilles Petersen and Brownswood Recordings present:
A Night of Death Jazz
with
SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS
+ Chromehoof & The Mighty Jeddo "
Does anyone have clue what this means I only understand "recording" "present" and "with"!
"soil and pimp sessions" is it anything to do with Gardener's world? Is Gay Search involved?
It can't be young people's beat groups as T'old Gilles is a man of advancing years?
Help please!

I know, sir! Me, sir!
This piece from the Guardian a while back explains nearly all.
Soil And Pimp Sessions
Fantastic Japanese jazz band. They play what could best be described as 'hyper-jazz'. They play with huge amounts of energy, are obscenely tight and everything is bright and shiny.
They wear very 70s clothes, looking a little like the Acid Jazz groups of a little while back. They have an MC, who occasionally makes some noise on a synth. They make a glorious noise!
Chromehoof
They wear jolly good costumes, but I must admit struggled to get into them on a musical level.
thanks everyone
I still think The Mighty Jeddo sounds like a 1980's children tv character you know a chubby kid who thinks he can fly and is only saved when he jumps off the top of the old cinema when he lands on a cow....
