Well Cornbury is announced, and it's.....

Gordon Kerr's picture

pretty poor to my ears, except for a few exceptions the main stage stinks.

Oh and no Fleet Foxes!

Hmmmm

Think I'll be giving it a miss this year - definitely not as strong a lineup as last year.

Looks like they are going for the 'family' market in a big way on the main stages.

For those who are thinking of going, I Am Kloot are definitely worth 40 or so minutes of your time.

As, of course, are the mighty Love Trousers.

You what?

Scouting for Girls? At a Word-endorsed festival, I mean, really, have you heard them? They're, well, they're SCOUTING FOR GIRLS!

And they're headlining? Oh, dear Lord.

You know your festival is in trouble when...

Les Pantalons d'amour are one of the highlights. Was really looking forward to going and am now trying to think of other reasons to, like the chats in the Word tent.

That's a shame

as Cornbury was one of the fests I was considering doing this year. Ah well, have to stick to the Boss\Shakey Hyde Park 'What's Glastonbury' double header for now.

A bit hit and miss

There are artists on each day that I'd like to see but nothing that tempts me for a whole day let alone a weekend.

I thought The Sugarbabes had just announced an indefinite hiatus?

Oh come on, people

It's The Damned onstage on Saturday night for God's sake, so what does it matter if Scraping For Ghouls are spreading their bland nothings over the awayday Cotswoldians at the bottom of the hill? And there's The Shortwave Set. And I Am Kloot. And Joe Jackson. Cheer up! Worse things happen at V, you know.

Actually - it's the first time I've been tempted with tickets

I've seen The Damned live regularly since 1981, and they always do a storming set - but they're not in anyway a 'family act'.

The young'uns may need to be shooed to bed early as the Captain loves a bit of effing and jeffing based banter with the punters...

Do you think they'll do Happy Talk?

It's the only thing connected to them I can recall.

Brilliant! I'll be using that!

You're forgetting the real draw of Cornbury...

...which is the chance to renew your Word subscription in person to Mark Ellen.

When I saw that list of bands

I honestly thought that the headliners had yet to be announced. That line-up does not compare at all well with previous years.
