Entertainment For Lively Minds
...we would like to finish now with our final song of the evening.

How many bands have you seen live that finish with the SAME song at every concert. None I would guess, unless you have been to a Runrig concert. As far as I know they ALWAYS finish with the song below.
Is that a good thing? At least you know the show is over when you hear it. What song would you expect from other acts?
The HJH's - well obvious innit
Dame David - Rock & Roll Suicide
Brooce - Born To Run (off the stage to the nearest limo)
Bob Dylan/Van Morrison - bloody anything really, you would be past caring

Fairport Convention
generally pull 'Matty Groves' or 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' out of the bag towards the end.
If it is Cropredy Festival it is always 'Meet On The Ledge' - time to stumble drunkenly back to your tent everyone!
Fairportiana
I don't know my Fairport alumni that well, so is it Simon Nicol who takes the lead on that performance?
It is indeed
Sir Simon himself - the last standing original member. And it's not just Cropredy - every Fairport shows closes with Meet On The Ledge.
Oh no!
you mentioned 'The Scottish Band', I prophesy disaster
Sigur Ros
Always finish with Song 8 from () - but it always the highlight and once you've played that there is nowhere else to go really!
Man don't give a .....
Don't the Super Furries always finish with a rendition of The Man Don't Give a Fuck? Normally about 15 mins long.
They have every time I've seen them.
Starship Trooper
Surely Yes were at their peak when they used to always finish their sets with "Starship Trooper"?
Similarly, Queen were never better than in the era when the big show closer was "In the lap of the gods - revisited"?
Designed for purpose - or what?
I know.
The Scottish Band always finish with the same song so their faithful fans will know exactly when to tap their carers on the arm to let them know that they can pull fingers out of ears and stop screaming.
The all time winner's got him by the balls.......
Jethro Tull, with very few exceptions, finish their concerts with Locomotive Breath.
A great song, to be sure, but if you've seen Tull as many times as I have, it would be nice if they occasionally shocked their audience by playing something totally unexpected.
Motorhead
...I assume are still rounding off with Overkill.
Nick Cave went through quite a long period ending with New Morning. But changed
Manics
Don't they always end on A Design For Life?
Whenever I've seen The Divine Comedy
which is about 7-8 times over the last 15 years, they've always finished with this
