Seems CD's are to be replaced by 'slotmusic' cards.

There's precedent

I believe in the 60s, singles were often mastered to sound good on the tinny little transister radios that were the minuscule ancestors of the ghetto-blaster.

I recall

I think, from the veritable Word podcast, that Motown records all had tambourines as they could be heard above the general din aroundf jukeboxes.

It's all the same thing really but modern technology allows you to really overdo it. So they do.
