Any advance on The Roxy?
Happy days, eh
...not.
Every episode was like aural / visual slow-death

I'll see you your Roxy and raise you with Wired
Deeply boring music TV from Channel 4, in the vacated Tube slot.
One show featured a huge build-up for a mystery act and we were kept on tenterhooks as to who it might possibly be. Turned out to be a funkadelic-type band called "Zapp!". 20 minutes of tedious, shiny-suited funky noodling followed. My brother offered this Wildean bon mot, "Zapp? More like Crapp!".
I dunno about Wired
They did a great Joy Division feature before their Substance LP was released (Tony, Morley and Gretton on great form here):
Personally speaking, this was of utterly critical importance to my musical evolution.
Also good item on Robbie Robertson's solo stuff, Brian Wilson, etc
Let's leave the Nina Simone interview aside. Car-crash TV
Thanks for reminding me
of Blue Mercedes.
Danny Baker once devoted a large part of a GLR morning show to people identifying them and then hearing a listener's story of the boys being booed offstage at a student ball.
Wow, none more eighties.
That clip is amazing.
Terrible song, bad shorts, the biggest keyboard guitar I've ever seen and the mandatory awful sax solo.
The Roxy was bad...how bad?
I seem to recall a contestant from Blind Date blagged the job of host.
Cheggers Plays Pop
gets coat
ROCK STEADY, anyone?
Anyone else remember smarmy Nicky Horne on Rock Steady:
"...oh, hi there! Just pouring myself a quick cup of coffee before I chat with Tanita Tikarim!!"
etc
Buttock-clenching stuff (sadly no YouTube)
Easy...
