While wabi sabi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sabi is arguably the aesthetic for our troubled times, it's a quality in short supply in most of what passes for popular music.

But then you stumble across this...

The song that immediately came to mind was...

...The Devil Loves L.A. by OP8. An estranged, lopsided duet in which Howe Gelb and Lisa Germano sing more or less the same material, but separately, one after the other. Gelb’s cracked delivery, over sparse cocktail-bar piano, seguing into Germano’s deadpan chanteuse.
