OK this is it folks. My first ever blog! Seems appropriate for this first time expereince to be on The Word website since my last two year's subscription to the magazine has been responsible for getting me back into the power of the quality written word in music. Just been through and set up my profile on the revamped website - apologies to the webmaster if it has been revamped for a while but I have just found it.

Sunday afternoon and I should be catching up with work but I am still recovering from the hangover brought on after Scotland's stunning 3-1 victory against Ukraine at Hampden yesterday. The Tartan Army were in good voice and I am a little hoarse today. Apparently the halftime singalong to the usual crowdpleaser - Runrig's somewhat overwrought version of Loch Lomond - was recorded yesterday for release as this year's Children in Need single?! From the raucous out of tune and time rendition that took place, I don't think i-tunes will be worried about their server going down.....
