They'll be calling it the curse of Kurt Wagner

Saw Vic supporting Lambchop at the RAH a few years ago, the other support was Thomas Hansen (St Thomas) who died two years ago.

Both were remarkable talents, both sadly never received the attention they deserved from a wider audience.

Rest well Vic.

Rest in peace, Vic

Very saddened to hear this news. Not the easiest of artists to get on with, but capable of moments of true beauty, such as:

Only saw him in concert once, and while it was certainly a strange experience - forgetting tunes, lyrics, etc. - when he was in full flow it was truly memorable.

This is sad news

Saw Vic once in 1995 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London promoting the "Is The Actor Happy?" LP.

I guess we shouldn't be too surprised given previous suicide attempts, but it's a shame to see another great artist pass on.

God bless, Vic...

Oh bollocks.

That is a crying shame. He was one of the funniest people I ever met and I have nothing but very fond memories of him. Smoking some of the strongest weed known to mankind with him backstage at the Barbican during Howestock he giggled away and said in that strange voice of his "it's just as well I'm in this fucking wheelchair".

Anyone reading these comments who have yet to sample his work should do so now.
