V Festival - anyone going and Massive advice needed
I have foolishly agreed to accompany my son and two of his friends to the V Festival in Weston Park (near Wolverhampton) this year. I'm required as they are under 16. I fully expect them to ditch the old fart as soon as they are safely through the gates so how should I spend my time? The line up does not look very Massive friendly.
Currently I'm looking forward to Bellowhead, Squeeze, KT Tunstall, Big Audio Dynamite and, possibly, the Manics. But I feel I should broaden my outlook and take this opportunity to see the stuff the yoof like such as Eminem and Rihanna. I've already seen the Arctic Monkeys. Any other recommendations?
And are any other Massive members likely to be there. I'd welcome the chance to spend some time with a more mature concert goer.

Just bumping
I really would be keen to meet any members of the massive there.
Cosford!
I live nearby in Shropshire.
A suggestion - consider Cosford, whish is basically an airforce training base and museum 3 miles from Weston Park gates.
if you have any interest in aeroplanes, bombs, bullets, etc, Cosford Museum is a great visit.
And a hint for anyone who fancies the train - Cosford railway station is about 3 miles from weston park, level walk once you get down the station steps. I love that station - always makes me think of Adlestrop. Beats the hell out of Stafford.
And you can get cheap tickets by going LMS (Euston) or Chiltern Railways (Marylebone) to Birmingham, and changing for Cosford.
If you are driving, probably best reasonable place to eat nearby is The Fox in Pave Lane, just south of Newport. Excellent pub food, mains about £10, massive portions excellent for teenagers, beer good. But gets busy.
Have a great time.
Well thanks
All good suggestions thanks though I have to confess I don't have a great deal of interest in military artefacts.
But since you've been kind enough to bump this thread (I couldn't in all conscience do it again), anybody else from here going?
Dad duties
I'm not going, but I can't wait for my kids to put me in this position. It won't be for 15 years or so, but it's an exciting prospect.
