Up aggregator

Dear Fraser...
Would there be a way of allowing each member to see how many "ups" they've accumulated per month or something. Just as a random note of interest? And more precisely, would the Massive be interested to know if Sheev has an average of 28 or David Hepworth 462 per month? Or would it just be more time strain that would be wasted on fruitless ears?
I'd be interested certainly.
Anyone else?

Us single digited individuals...
... really don't need scores kept, thanks very much (sigh)
Personally...
I wouldn't want to know that. It might encourage some idea of a 'pecking order' which I'm completely against. Everyone's voice carries the same weight here (except for Fraser who is Lord of this here parish).
What is
the up arrow for? I'm reasonably tech savvy but haven't a clue.
As usual
Patrick Crowther has the answer.
Thanks for the mensh and all that BK - but nice as the odd up arrer is - no need to get all competitive round these parts methinks.
*plans next thread*
"The Beatles are great, Murdoch is the Anti-Christ and the Daily Mail stinks as does poor punctuation, the way young people speak and Green Day. And by the way I love a pun don't you?"
Yes yes
but what's the bloody thing for?
As usual...
The answer is to be found in the FAQ: http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/faq#arrows
I'll look into compiling some sort of table, and will post it if I think it's worthwhile and interesting.
So can we now all sing a song
in tribute to Fraser?
In a Sade stylee
'No need to ask -
He's the Up Aggregator
The Up Aggregator
The Up Aggregator
The Up Aggregator
Post to post, he may just embargo, leave no trail
Sheev, Vulpes, Archie Valparaiso...where's Mikhail?'
I've got my coat...
Make sure the said coat is white.
With a scoopy cut-out back to it or no-one will pay attention to the post.
Oops
Thanks Fraser. Never knew that page existed and I've probably been breaking several rules during the short time I've been on this site. Can I just say though that in the 18 months or so of my listening to the podcast how much I've enjoyed your laconic presence (true, not just shameless flattery)
Time better spent
Don't bother Fraser, I'm sure you've got more important tasks to attend to at Word Towers.
Can you
up arrow ones own posts. Why not a down arrow also
i see
now you cant
It ended badly
The up-arrow works (in this context) as "I like this post/thought/idea/argument/video/whatever, but have no particular comment to add beyond 'I like this'".
Down arrows seem to induce bicker-itis.
This is all i have
to say on this subject
http://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&source=web&oi=video_result&ct=res&cd=3&ved...
Up?
Yours?
Mine?
No ta.
Bad idea
Why would anyone care?
I try..
Never to give an up arrow to Word staffers as a matter of principle as the sycophants who give an arrow to whatever they post drive me nuts.
Received my first arrow
The other day, haven't been so proud and puffed up since scoring the winning goal for my school team forty years ago.I am now officially a pain in the ar*e to live with according to the G.L.W.
An apology.
I once gave myself an up arrow for a blog entry - it seems this is possible, though not for a comment. I realise how this looks but I assure you it was just an experiment, to see if it could be done. I understand now that this is no excuse. I know I have been very foolish, and see that I have let you all down, I've let myself down, but worst of all I've let my family down. I will be taking some time away from this site to reflect on my actions. Thank you for your time.
Simple criterion
If it makes me laugh out loud, it gets an up arrow.
Don't need a down arrow; I just quietly pass on to something else if I don't like it.
