New Unthanks tour announced http://www.the-unthanks.com/tour-dates
It's "paired down" apparently. Does that mean 2 of them aren't there any more?

"Core quintet"
Rachel, Becky and the boys. No string section?
Nope
No horns neither. Just Rachel, Becky, Adrian, Chris and Niopha. Plus Johnny and Lucy, it seems.
Intimate venues indeed...
The thought that Newbrough Town Hall has a box office has just made me choke on my sandwich. I'm about to ring them - may end up speaking to a confused cleaner.
"Paired Down"
I see what you've done there.
Thanks for the heads-up
Mr DG & I have booked. His brother happens to live a few miles away in Dobcross, so we're making a weekend of it and having a family Drake night out. Teenage niece and nephew on babysitting duties. RESULT!
Did we ever get to the bottom of...
...The Mystery Of Rachel Unthanks Bairn?
As I recall, it was a dark and stormy night and sinister goings-on were spotted on the bairn front by one of our peers. Billy Jo McAllister and the Tallachie Brige weren't mentioned, but like Edwin Drood the Dickensian mists swirled around and a dark mystery was born...
Singing weekend
Are any of the Massive attending any of the Unthanks singing weekends? I'm off to Seahouses this Friday and really looking forward to it. I shall report back.
Bracknell?
Cor haven't been to a gig in Bracknell in years.
A bit of toilet humour
We went to see The Unthanks in the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh a couple of years back. My wife tells me she was in the shunky and the person in the next cubicle let rip with a highly audible anal announcement. As it happened said person and my wife both exited their respective stalls at the same time. Of corse it's none other than Rachael Unthank. Hey, we all do it ... but it did give me a snigger.
The gig was excellent by the way, absolutely first class but every time I see RU now, guess what immediately springs to mind!
Sorry for lowering the tone.
Have they lost their map of the midlands?
Much as I love Ely, it's a bit of a stretch...
They've certainly lost their map of Sweden
Mind you, it's not surprising, as the only time they've played Stockholm, ten men and a dog turned up. Brilliant gig, though.
