Unchained Medley

It has recently occurred to me that there are some splendid segues out there just waiting to be imagined. In this age of (now infra-dig) mashing and whatnot, there is still joy to be found in combining drastically different songs. For instance, 'Tomorrow Never Knows' segues very nicely into 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' by Andy Williams. Fair enough, but I figured I'd found a serious mine of pub-gamery when I realised that 'Paint It Black' would work splendidly as a medley with 'The Laughing Gnome'. It really works. My other half suggested that 'Gimme Shelter' would fit quite nicely with 'True' by Spandau Ballet.

I suspect (and hope) that I'm not the only one to have thought of such sublime combinations. Any other suggestions?

Here's one

A woman I used to work with used to sing the CCS version of "Whole Lotta Love", knowing it as the TOTP theme tune. She'd then go into the drum break and then come out the other end with the theme tune of "Hawaii Five O".

Medley was her second name... Spandau & The Stones again

Remember many years ago from a Record Mirror DJ's column, that a mix of The Stone's 'Hot Stuff' & Spandau Ballet's 'Musclebound' worked well together.

Ah, Roger Scott. Anyone

Ah, Roger Scott. Anyone remember the old Capital ad (done in an American voice) that went.. "when my kids clamour for sweets, I give them XXX Oranges" (can't remember the brand name).
After one drivetime break, Roger came back with ".. if my kids clamour for sweets, I give' em a smack round the ear".

You won't hear anyone answer back to advertisers these days.

But I digress. Good topic, this one.
