Trivia time again
due to the success of my Footy trivia questions. someone(My brother) send me these based on Word Favourite Nick Lowe.
How can you go from Nick Lowe to Deepak Chopra in 4 moves or less ?.
How can you go from Nick Lowe to Robbie Williams in 4 moves or less ?
The one move you can't use is "Lived in LA or London etc" apart from the last Robbie one,They are all connected by people.
There are probably various answers but i'll post the ones i was sent.
Personally i got the second one and on the first one i was on the right path(To enlightenment ?) but needed a little wiki help to complete it.
I've asked the guy who does these to come up with an RT one. That should get me back in the good books.

Right,
Robbie Williams sang Something Stupid with Nicole Kidman who got an early break on American TV on Saturday Night Live in a sketch with Mike Myers who was in Austin Powers which featured Elvis Costello whose first five albums were produced by Lowe.
Is that four moves?
That's 4
A good route. very different from the way i did it. That's what i love about these.
tenuous? do I need to pad it out to four/
Nick Lowe was/is married/romantically entangled to TRACEY McLEOD who was the inspiration for Jude in `Bridget Jones` Diary` and appeared in said film which featured fat dancer ROBBIE WILLIAMS singing `Have You Met Miss Jones` etc.
Gotham?
Isn`t Deepak`s son called Gotham? I`m almost certain I read something somewhere about this? If so; Gotham is the fictional home of BATMAN and, of course, THE RIDDLER who wore a suit similar, if not identical, to the one worn on the Live Stiffs tour by...NICK LOWE.
Nick to Rob
Nick Lowe, house producer for Stiff Records, wrote songs for and produced Elvis Costello, label mate of Ian Dury.
All 3 toured together on the Stiff Live Stiffs Tour.
Robbie Williams sang "You're The Why" on Ian Dury's last album - "Ten Turnips From The Tip" and "Sweet Gene Vincent" on the "Brand New Boots and Panties" tribute album..
Fantastic
All are brilliant but none are the route i took.
John B's 3 leads the way.
Simon - 4 or less is fine.
Who would have thought there were so many connections.
I'll leave my routes until later but see if you can find more alternatives.
Mine
Nick Lowe wrote "The Beast in me" which was covered by Johnny Cash.
Johnny Cash covered Frank Sinatra's "Love's Been Good to me".
Frank Sinatra was heavily covered by Robbie Williams on his "Swing When you're winning" travesty.
I like
Nice one steve. my route was more complicated. see if anyone can go from Nick to Robbie via Dave Edmunds
Ummm its a maybe........
Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds were in Rockpile together.
Dave Edmunds recorded for years and years at Rockfield Studio, Monmouth.
"Wonderwall" by Oasis was also recorded at Rockfield.
Robbie Williams played "Wonderwall" live at his Slane (?) Castle gig, shortly after the "fat dancer from Take That" quip.

why not
why not
here we go RT to TV
2 ways to get From RT to The Wire 3-4 steps needed,
How do you get from RT to CSI;NY via Dusseldorf ? Mad Mike who did this calculates 6 moves.
I'm no expert on either....
....but for a tenuous one link connection from RT to The Wire - Richard Thompsons father was a detective in Scotland Yard.
in that case
bigsteviecook you must be bored out of your mind here. IT's A JOKE. I consider myself a Wire fan. Let's leave it at that.
RT i know next to nothing despite me spending a large part of my day reading about the man.
The links are musical ones.
the CSI;NY is hard
Please accept my humble apologies.....
......for daring to answer your trivia question.
I'm very sorry that you didn't get *my joke*.
CSI;NY ????? I don't know what that is? I thought you'd mis-typed CSNY ?????
Oh well.
Communication breakdown
Bigstevie cook-What i meant was "You don't know much about The Wire or RT" so at times The Word blog must be Boring for you as these 2 subjects appear a lot, that's all. was not having a go by any means.
No worries!
I don't find this blog boring at all! It's a constant stream of hilarity for me.
I'm at series 2 episode 3 of "The Wire" and I have 8 CD/DVDs which feature Richard Thompson either solo or with Fairport Convention.....his latest "Sweet Warrior" is fast becoming one of my all time favourites.
I do take an interest in the details of RTs music but as for "The Wire", much as I love it, I only watch it.....I couldn't tell you the name of a single actor/writer/producer involved.
