Trashcan Sinatras

Anyone out there aware they’d released a new album (In the Music) a couple of months ago? Came across it by chance browsing emusic over the weekend. Not for anyone who prefers their music challenging, but it’s a lovely thing. Got Weightlifting at the same time which seems to be even lovelier.
Nearly twenty year gap since I last heard anything of theirs (bought the Only Tongue Can Tell 7 inch when I was doing my A levels if memory serves) but I’m thoroughly enjoying our renewed acquaintance.

must get that
and Weightlifting is a lovely album!
Thanks for the tip
I've downloaded it and am listening now. Can I add to the love for Weightlifting?
Me too
Will download new album asap!
The Trashcans are magic
They have that rare mix of tunefulness, integrity and soul. They've ploughed their own furrow despite being dropped, being made bankrupt and having band members living on both sides of the Atlantic. As I write, their US record label has gone bust, so In The Music is still not available in the States. I am a huge fan of the band. I will see them next week on the first night of their UK tour. I'm so pleased someone else brought their name to the Word's attention.
A few months ago I e-mailed Mr Hepworth suggesting he or someone else (me) write a piece on them, given that they had an album coming out, but he seemed to think their story was nothing new and that no-one was interested in them. Shame on you Mr H. For everyone else, visit trashcansinatras.com. Mr Madrid, register yourself on the community message board - it's quite quiet but a nice place to be.
Aye. The Trashcans are magic.
Seconded
The Trashcans are one of the great lost bands in my opinion and would have been well worthy of inclusion in the recent cult heroes issue.
I got "In the Music" a few weeks ago and it's definitely on a par with their previous stuff and one of my favourites of the year.
No mention of its release in The Word, but I suppose thats what happens when the review section is so small.
PS A visit to their website store usually has some self-produced CD's available.
Didn't realise they had a
Didn't realise they had a new one out. last I heard of them was the 'Wild Mountainside' single a few years ago.
I've got the 'I've Seen Everything' album, and love it, but never got round to buying anything else.
Think I may be cashing in a few of my emusic credits...
Saved for next month
Thanks for the tip.
