Tracey Thorn/EBTG

Nice to read good reviews of Tracey Thorn's new single and album.

One of the great voices!

Saw them play at Hull Truck many years ago when Ben and Tracey revisited Hull after studying at the University.

One of my favourite singles of the 80s.

Have an up arrow. Her new album is ace too.

Looking forward to it

I am encouraged by Native's post - I didn't like the dancy stuff at all so it all sounds good news to ne!

Sometime in February or March 1980,

the band I wrote lyrics for played a gig at St.Albans College of Further Education, along with 4 other anonymous local bands. One was a Hatfield outfit called the Stern Bops. I watched them soundchecking, and the female singer/guitarist caught my eye. I thought she was pretty good. Nice voice. That was about it. A couple of months later, Tracey Thorn (for it was she) left the Stern Bops, formed the Marine Girls, and superstardom beckoned.
My favourite TT album is still an early one, an old LP copy that I still cherish. That final track: "Too Happy" - what a gem!
