There's plans to reopen the Post Office Tower in London in time for the Olympics.
Which is a good opportunity to post this clip which is not only fascinating for the social history it contains but it's astonishing barking electronic "music" and retro animation.
.
So what are the great songs about towers and or going round and round.

XTC "Towers Of London"
is probably as close as you're going to get.

I had hopes Tower Records were reopening in the UK again, especially that Glasgow branch. :(
Now there's a Idea

Sugababes - Round Round
Can't get more precise than that.
Leonard Cohen - Tower of Song
"I said to Hank Williams, 'How lonely does it get?'
Hank Williams hasn't answered me yet
But I hear him coughing, all night long"
A rousing oldie...
Tower of Strength by Frankie Vaughan
If it doean't make you smile a bit, you might as well give up now.
another "... of Strength"
by The Mission
The Tower
by Mordant Music sounds like an unholy mix of Sunn 0)))-style drone, dubstep and Italian horror film soundtracks and and is highly recommended if you've a taste for dark, leftfield electronica.
Elton John
Tower Of Babel.
another Tower...

And don't forget Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Right Round...
Plus Kylie's Spinning Around
I'm glad
you called it the Post Office Tower. BT Tower just sounds wrong.

The Telecom Tower was always their favourite restaurant, as Steak & kidney pie and chips was their favourite meal, and lager their top drink... ah those were the days.
I want to eat there!!
...providing it doesn't cost about a grand a head.
By the way, the soundtrack is by John Baker from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop (largely released under a pseudonym on a library music album). Lots of tape manipulation and cut-ups of of found sounds going on there.
thanks Philc
I assumed it was something like that it was a bit more extreme than usual promo music
