Top Of The Pops Competition: Winner Revealed

totp.jpgWe have a winner for our Top of the Pops competition, so congratulations to reader NealT, whose entry suggests a rosy future for the programme, in which the best bits of Top Gear are combined with The Word to rather stunning effect. We especially like Neal's musical version of Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, and his suggestion that the whole shebang be hosted by a certain David Hepworth.

NealT, the 43-CD, 900-track box set will shortly be winging its way towards you. Congratulations.

Ah of course...

NealT said the magic words...not that I'm bitter or anything.

I'm surprised he didn't shoehorn in...

Richard Thompson as well.

Richieboy | 27 August 2008 - 10:43am

I Thank You

Fame at last!! Well, a whole bunch of cd's anyway, which is nice.

Yes yes Richieboy, I did say the magic words...but the difference is I meant them ;)

I think...

I'm going to be sick.
Congratulations anyway - good going.

Richieboy | 27 August 2008 - 12:15pm

still ...

a tad on the bitter side

Are you going to go the modern way?

...download and stick it on eBay?

Congrats! (Proven non-bitter reply: I didn't enter!)

I thought about it!!

After seeing how much it actually costs on Amazon it did occur to me but than I thought the better of it because a) my wife would kill me because they'll be the first cd's in the house that she'll actually like and b) it's the first thing I've ever won (cue violins) so I don't want to face the karma of not appreciating it!! Also it looks pretty cool and I'm a sucker for packaging.

Congratulations!

For a moment there

I thought The Word was genuinely interested in, and excited by, the idea that TOTP could, and should, be revived.
