Top five most played songs of the noughties as named by PRS

BigJimBob's picture

that's 2001- 2011. The top 3 is not really a surprise and you'll probably think of them after two to three minutes of thinking, but I bet you will be pressed to name four and five:

Actually, I'm surprised...

... About Toxic as well.

Surely, Angels is a joint Guy Chambers composition with Robbie Williams (with an uncredited contribution from another bloke) ?

Two great records

Two every dj should have in his/her box and one I'm ashamed to say I don't know. Seems about right.

Amazing

I think it's amazing that it's possible to listen to new pop/rock music all the time (as I do) and be completely unaware of two of these songs (as I am). I've headed over to YouTube to have a listen and I think I've heard both of them (no4 & no5) before but they're so dull and generic that it's very hard to tell.

Agree

I could only hum you two of them if offered ten grand!

Great quote

"Guy Fletcher, the chairman of PRS for Music, said: (this) underpins the importance of good songwriting in producing a hit."

No shit sherlock?. So that's where I've been going wrong all these years, doh!
