Too good not to share

Apologies to those who are sick of The Beatles, and to those who have already seen what may be the best "review" ever written. I humbly submit for your reading pleasure:

Chuck Klosterman Repeats The Beatles

It is not easy to categorize the Beatles’ music; more than any other group, their sound can be described as “Beatlesque.” It’s akin to a combination of Badfinger, Oasis, Corner Shop, and everyother rock band that’s ever existed. The clandestine power derived from the autonomy of the group’s composition—each Beatle has his own distinct persona, even though their given names are almost impossible to remember. There was John Lennon (the mean one), Paul McCartney (the hummus eater), George Harrison (the best dancer), and drummer Ringo Starr (The Cat).

Thanks...

I'll now spend the next 4 months trying to figure it out. :-)

Nah, it's really simple.

If I can do it etc...

Do read the Chuck Klosterman thing though. It's really rather good.

I saw the stuff about doing quotations...

but where does it tell you about putting said quotation in a nice neat box?

I do appreciate you have a life to live...

Simple really

Just do the blockquote thing and it all happens as if by magic.

Let's see...

Backed by a Dutch millionaire named Stanley August Miesegaes, vocalist, pianist and ex-drummer Rick Davies used newspaper advertising in Melody Maker to recruit an early version of the band in August 1969, an effort which recruited vocalist/guitarist and keyboardist Roger Hodgson. Other members of this proto-Supertramp included Richard Palmer (guitar, balalaika, vocals) and Robert Millar (percussion, harmonica) . Initially, Roger Hodgson sang and played bass guitar (and, on the side, guitar, cello and flageolet). The band was called Daddy from August 1969 to January 1970, at which time this was changed to Supertramp, a name taken from W. H. Davies' book, The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp, published in 1908.

Wonderful! I've learnt something useful today!

"Wonderful! I've learned something useful today!"

And then you use it to post something about Supertramp.

Oh, Patrick, clearly there's no hope for you...

;-)

*Edit* But thanks, Gauntlet, for pointing the way to a most helpful site.
