was mentioned briefly in the recent Deep Purple discussion, but I think he's worth his own thread.
If people remember him at all these days it's for the short time he spent as Blackmore's replacement in Purple, but you really should check out his two solo albums, Private Eyes (which is on Spotify) and Teaser. They're just full of great songs, he's a fantastic guitarist (electric and acoustic) and I love his voice too.
For starters, try Gettin' Tighter (by Deep Purple), Alexis (by The James Gang), and from the solo albums, Gypsy Soul, Wild Dogs, Savannah Woman, and Sweet Burgundy.

Bolin was the main reason Come Taste the Band is the best Purp album. And check out Bolin's guitar on Alphonse Mouzon's Mind Transplant and on Billy Cobham's Spectrum.
Agree
TB is fantastic - I recently transferred "Teaser" to CD from vinyl and am loving rediscovering it. As I mentioned in teh Purps thread, he is great on "Spectrum" by Billy Cobham - try "Red Baron" - brilliant. And you'd right, on CTTB he is superb, writing many of the tracks as well as that great funky guitar playing.
'Spectrum' is the jazz album
'Spectrum' is the jazz album it's possible for rock fans to like. Tons of crazy Bolin action on that one.
