This is hard

I love Ac/Dc but I swore I would never return to the O2.

Maybe a trip to Birmingham is in order

What's wrong with Wembley these days?

One of the best shows I've ever seen was AC/DC at Wembley Arena on the Stiff Upper Lip tour. Is the Empire Pool now resigned to the "Where Are They Now?" files? The 02 is just far too "corporate" for my liking. Yes it looks great, yes it has brilliant facilites, but, much like the Emirates Stadium or the new Wembley it has no SOUL.

I'm off to Wembley Arena

...this very Friday to see Oasis. I'll let you know

Wot no hometown gig for

Wot no hometown gig for Johnno?

Was just thinking the same

The last time they played Newcastle Arena I went for a laugh and they totally won me over. Now they're one of my favourite bands. I'm sure they'll add one in later. Or at least Glasgow.

UK?

Not much of a UK tour is it? 3 venues in England, bugger all in Scotland (where 2/5 of the band were born don't forget), Wales or N.I.

Guess I won't be going to see them then, if the only option if a 4 hour drive to Manchester.

I ranted

about the classic 4 date UK tour in the 'More dumbest things in entertainment' thread last week, but should have addded what is going on when bands do announce a more extensive tour but don't bother playing anywhere in the North East?? (hello Fleet Foxes)

I would suggest

Dublin as the alternative, make a holiday of it, although sadly the venue, formerly The Point, has recently been re-named The O2 Dublin.

I would go to Dublin...

...but it's insanely expensive these days

I think it's going to be Birmingham

I've only been to O2 once

and hopefully never again. I was up in the gods and might as well have been in a different building. I did get the impression though that it probably isn't that bad if you can get tickets for down on the floor. Is it just as bad there?
