This is bad

Twangothan's picture

Under no circumstance use this service. I am shocked it's allowed personally. Automatically downloading audio from YouTube. Should be banned.

i'm shocked AND horrified

but managed to recover my composure just in time to check if that nice Kevin Rowland version of Thunder Road comes out as an mp3 and whaddya know...

it's outrageous

I too am shocked beyond belief. And I heard only yesterday of an "add on" to the Firefox browser entitled Video DownloadHelper which enables downloads of any video/audio streaming on your computer. Unbelievable.

Whaaaa?

Let me get this right - you are saying that any irascible blackguard could download each individual chapter of the 'Prisoner of Zenda' from Youtube and then stitch them together on his or her computer to turn them into a single, seamless movie?

I am apopleptic with rage at the injustice! Pass me my fountain pen - I feel a missive to the Telegraph coming on!

This is scandalous

I'm just testing it again to check the extent of the scandal, before I report it to the Scandal Police.

That's it - I'm emigrating!

Outraged is not the word, I do hope it won't affect the price of my house...

This is all very shocking.

And it saddens me to write this but, in addition to all this material enabling people to deny artists their proceeds of sale, there are other terrible things available on The Web.

A friend tells me that there is a website where one may view females in a state of undress. He believes there may be others.

Shocking.

I Don't Believe It

Next you'll be telling me that there is a host of sites where you can have conversations with people you don't know and have never met.

Rigid Digit | 26 March 2010 - 10:51pm

Steel yourself, Rigidsworth Digital.

For sites such as you mention do exist. Repeat it not, but I have seen them with mine own eyes. Souls conversing.. yes conversing with others whom they had not themselves beheld.

Witnessing them, I was aware of winds around my liver and, as such, felt the need to take a tincture of isinglass and laudanum prepared by my physician.

Sufficiently strengthened, I decided to verify my explorations regarding females exposing themselves. Lord, purge my soul for I did find such images. Several times. It was well that the laudanum was upon me that I might not be gripped by the base impulses of the beasts in the fields. The effects, though, do seem to be waning. Ooh blimey. Give me five minutes.. er.. best make it thirty seconds..

Methinks

we're going to have to refer to you henceforth as The Naughty Dentist of Ports-mouth (a variation on Nominative Determinism perhaps?).

Entertaining though. Keep it, er, up...

Beware

Some are warm and friendly and can recommend obscure Beatles outtakes. Others will tell you you are so gay and a complete c*nt for expressing the mildest opinion.

0
badartdog | 27 March 2010 - 11:43am

Controversial...

Reno Dakota | 27 March 2010 - 11:55am

Maybe.

But I think it could be the local Priest.

Pencilsqueezer | 27 March 2010 - 11:55am

This is so disgusting..

..I have placed it in my favourites just to remind myself not to use it.

A Victory for the People!

http://www.video2mp3.net/ now seems to be defunct.

Before I start rejoicing, does anyone know of any similar sites out there? (so I can hope for their downfall too, obviously)

A quick search

reveals a few more undesirable sites that should not be getting any promotion for the deplorable service they provide:

http://www.vidtomp3.com/

http://www.dirpy.com/

http://www.youtubetomp3.net/

Personally I'd avoid them all, and also the aforementioned http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/

Thanks, Rigit Digit

You will be disappointed to hear that I checked http://www.video2mp3.net/ again, and sadly it's back up.

Must have been a temporary outage.

Dammit.

Hannah | 26 April 2010 - 8:03pm

Your vigilence...

...is much appreciated. I will continue boycotting this deplorable site.

Seamus | 26 April 2010 - 9:13pm

I thought my work here was done for a moment

Evidently not.

0
Twangothan | 26 April 2010 - 9:36pm

Write to your MP

I'm off to write to my MP to see if he can put a stop to this - oh bugger there's that election thingy going on so he probably won't take an interest.

I am, once again, reassured.

The Massive are good people who manage to find all these nasty sites and then start threads to warn us away from them. I, personally, have a great fear of finding a way of ripping DVDs onto iTunes and I'm terrified that I might stumble on a site which tells me how to do it so if anyone knows of one, can they let me know so I'll be able to steer well clear.
