This is a special thread for anyone who isn't interested in "The Wire" and resents people who are

Carry on.

Phew...sanctuary

Although I'm not sure I 'resent' people who are interested in the Wire.

Now...perhaps we can all talk about football or girls whilst those Wire-types aren't around.

Its just a telly show...

..better than CSI, not as good as The Sopranos..though maybe I'd like it better if I could understand more than 50% of the dialogue.

Agree

"The Sopranos" is an order of magnitude more complex in the plot and the characters, but TW is good. We watch it with the subtitles on which helps a lot!

Law & Order

SVU and the one with Jerry Orbach do it for me, can't stand the one with D'Onofrio, Criminal Intense would be a better name for it what with all his staring into space looking angsty.

Lost

I'm sure The Wire is brilliant and one day I will get round to watch it I'm sure. Can it compete with the mighty TJ Hooker though! There's other stuff I have to see first, Battle Star Galatica (first half of season four), can't wait for Lost Series Four (out on Monday). For all those who gave up on the latter you really should stick with it, I'm hooked and sad. Will re-watch Series 3 before I start on series four.

I'm sure I'd probably love it

if I ever actually watched an episode, but it's at the point now where I'm refusing to do so purely out of belligerence and spite because so many people are saying that I should.

So I'll just sit here quite happily with my Buck Rogers boxsets, thank you very much...

I prefer the Wire-less

Me too! Not enough of it around if you ask me.

I too have yet to see an episode of The Wire.....

It will have to wait as I am currently getting through the complete box set of "The Two Fat Ladies" cooking series.
True.
