Things you thought were great......

.....until someone ruined it for you.
I remember watching Glastonbury on TV a few years ago and seeing someone in the crowd waving a big sign saying "Golf Sale". I thought this was great - clearly ironic rather than zany.
A year later I was suffering the bits of Fighting Talk that have Colin Murray in them when I heard him banging on about how he was going to some festival with a 'Golf Sale' sign.
As a result if this I have condemned the waving of Golf Sale signs at festivals as "zane" of the highest order.
Apart from the first bloke who did it, who was a visionary........unless it was Murray, it which case it was zane of Colin Hunt proportions.

What's the difference..
...between ironic and zany?
Do you need a meter or something?
Easy
Ironic is Randy Newman. Zany is Freddie Garrity.
I thought Fighting Talk was great
until you pointed out Colin Murray wasn't very good.
I've listened to and loved
FT from its first series with Johnny Vaughan. Unfortunately I can't abide Colin Murray. Still doesn't stop me listening, just makes it less enjoyable - him and Tom Watt: gits.
Never mind Murray and Watt:
It's that bloody bell they ding.
Does my sodding head in.
I miles away on this one
Colin Murray is ok (not great) but the recent one with Johnny Vaughn was awful. I also think Tom Watt is pretty good. Its essential when Steve Bunce, Martin Kehlner or the German fella whose name escapes me is on though.
