1st December 1976, The Sex Pistols and Bill Grundy are going toe to toe on Today programme. Embedded amongst the two fisted effing and jeffing, is Steve Jones shirt - the infamous 'tits' design. However, this shirt has a history with it's roots in the sixties. Reworked for Sex and Seditionaries by McLaren, it can spotted several years earlier draped over Alice Cooper.

Earlier still, rock's most bespoke sticksman Charlie Watts wears one on the Get Yer Ya Ya's Out sleeve.

For the full story of how 'tits' found it's way from the Stones to the Sex Pistols have a peep at Paul Gorman's excellent piece here..
