The Word in song
Posted by Mousey on 20 December 2011 - 10:08pm.
Someone over in another thread mentioned that great Christmas single from 1984 "Feed The Word". Which of course is what all of us here do unless we're blog-only folks.
And there are many other great songs which namecheck this great magazine.
Obviously there's the song for all of the bloggers "Everybody Wants To Rule The Word"
And David Hepworth's theme "The Man Who Sold The Word".
etc etc

I give you - Wordy Rappinghood by the Tom Tom Club.
It's a one-off. Funny, clever, a little nerdy, silly, but still cool and makes people of all ages smile and dance. Also has creds via the Talking Heads connection, which steers it away from Crazy Frog/Aqua territory.
The rap theme aligns nicely with the knowingly inappopriate "massive" epithet used for Word readers.
It has a bongo solo in it and a passage in French.
Hell, even the song's title sounds like a Tom Hibbert-ism, whose turn of phrase continues to influence The Word to this day.
None more Word friendly
