The Word Download Store: This Week's Recommendations Now Online

entroducing_1.jpgThis week's recommended downloads are now online in the Word Download Store.

David Hepworth has discovered a long-deleted compilation featuring one of his favourite singers (what's more, it's an album that'll cost you the best part of a hundred quid were you to buy a second-hand CD via Amazon).

And reader Retropath2's choice of album that no Word reader should be without? Well, that might come as a bit of a surprise.

If you'd like to see a recommendation of your own featured, write a hundred-word review and send it to me.

Nice pic...

...but does DJ Shadow know what you've done to his artwork?? ;-)

Question

Where was that picture taken? It looks just like The Great Escape in Nashville.

Edit: Good God, the internet...two minutes later and I'm told it's in Sacramento.

Answer

It's the Records store at 1618 Broadway, Sacramento, USA.

The Mutton Birds

Two things:

1. How can a "Best of The Mutton Birds" not have Like This Train on it? It's my favourite. It shows that that the four-best-tracks EP idea (see "The record business's latest bright idea - forcing us to pay for songs we don't want") would struggle to cater for differing tastes and opinions. I do like EPs though.

2. Their Rain, Steam & Speed album has a brilliant photo on the cover. I love it.
