The Wire Fantasy Theme Game

Like everyone else at Word Towers (except for The Hep, who has been to Australia) I am eagerly awaiting my pre-ordered season 5 of the Wire and can announce for those not in the know that Steve Earl (who guested as Bubbles' drug counciller in season 2) is doing the theme. Great. Here it here first.
BUT! Supposing you are David Simon - who would you commission a theme from?For my money the song is screaming for a Nick Cave treatment. The bad seed's rough loving would squeeze the last black drops of bible out of this excellent tune.
If I was being mischevious I would like to hear5 a punky mangling by the Wedding Present, or now I think about it, how about a kick in the Balkans from Beirut?

Judging from Simon's own comments
if there had been a sixth season, he'd like to have been able to explore Baltimore's major demographic changes in more depth, particularly the influx of Spanish-speaking people into the poorer areas (only suggested obliquely in the five seasons with minor characters such as Reynaldo).
So, Celia Cruz is no longer with us, but some kind of female vocal certainly wouldn't hurt after four geezers and a bunch of kids.
